The back page of the Daily Express leads with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta saying Gunners must splash the cash during the summer transfer window – or risk falling behind.
Arsenal targets Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber in agreement as Gunners on cusp of signings
DAILY EXPRESS SAYS Kai Havertz and Jurrien Timber both share the same view that Arsenal is the best place for them to build their careers. The Gunners are closing in on the signing of the duo as Mikel Arteta aims to build on last season’s promising performance.
Arsenal headed into the summer transfer window with Declan Rice as their top target. The West Ham captain remains the main player on the agenda.
However, while seeing two bids rejected by the Hammers, they are also focusing on targets in other positions. Chelsea star Havertz emerged as a shock target earlier this month and a deal is close to being wrapped up for £65million.
The German is said to have undergone a medical this weekend and an announcement could be made at some point this week. Meanwhile, interest in Timber came out of the blue.
