As the countdown continues for the Gladiators reboot to return to our screens, three new faces have also been announced as part of the line-up.
Last year it was confirmed that the BBC were going to be relaunching the sports entertainment show, which originally aired between 1992 and 2000.
Earlier this month father-son duo Bradley and Barney Walsh were revealed as the new hosts of the series, which will again see a new generation of superhuman Gladiators compete against a brave set of contenders in the ultimate test of speed and strength.
Over the past few weeks we’ve already had Gladiators Fury, Steel, Giant, Thunder, Legend, Nitro and Diamond unveiled, and now three more have been revealed.
On Thursday’s episode of Steph’s Packed Lunch Sabre, Apollo and Dynamite were announced as another three of the Gladiators set to star.
Sheli McCoy, or Sabre shares the main attributes of her namesake, being fierce, powerful and agile.

An unstoppable force, she describes herself as a grafter and trains a jaw-dropping 16-19 hours per week.
She has competed in five British Weightlifting Championships events and numerous CrossFit championships all over the world and has simultaneously been Scottish champion in both sports.
As the owner of her own gym in Dundee, Sabre is also hoping to inspire future generations to reach their full fitness potential.
Contenders have been warned to ‘be afraid of an attack’ from her, as she’s not only ‘fearless and ferocious’, but once she catches sight of her prey, there’s ‘no escape’.
‘I truly hope Sabre will inspire and empower the younger generation of strong capable females just as the gladiators I once watched inspired me to be a confident athletic women. It is Sabre’s time to shine – here come the powerful girls,’ she said.
Alex Gray is joining the series as well, as Apollo (Picture: Alex Gray/ Instagram)
Taking his name from the Greek god, Apollo (Alex Gray) has ‘cheeky good looks and speed of a rocket’.
Starting his career playing rugby under 16s, he later moved onto the Premiership and then England 7s team.
He captained English Rugby teams for 16’s, 18’s and 20’s.
Scouted to go to NFL for his skillset, he became the first British rugby player to transfer over to the NFL and was then signed for the Atlantic Falcons, also making history as the first international player to Captain an NFL team.
He said that after playing rugby in the NFL, ‘the opportunity to inspire as Apollo is a dream come true’.
‘I plan on leading from the front and never giving up,’ he added.
Emily Steel is also part of the line-up, as Dynamite (Picture: Emily Steel/ Instagram)
The other Gladiator to be revealed was Dynamite, with 20-year-old Emily Steel being the youngest in the line-up.
With a background in swimming competing at a national level until she was 15 years old, she’s now a full-time elite CrossFit athlete, also juggling second year studies full time at university in sport and exercise science.
Described a ‘small, explosive and dangerous’, she recently competed internationally at one of the largest fitness festivals in the world where she became an under 23’s weightlifting British record holder.
While Dynamite said she was too young to remember the original series, her parents suggested she sign up.
‘Dynamite really does represent who I am and I’m excited to showcase what I can do in the games,’ she said.
People have been warned not to underestimate her as although she might look small, she is ready to obliterate her opponents.
The Gladiators will take part in the ultimate test of speed and strength in a series of brand new games alongside classics culminating with fan-favourite The Eliminator.
The original ITV series attracted over 14 million viewers at its peak in the 90s.
