Coronation Street star and acting legend, Maureen Lipman, has opened up about her challenging schedule for the ITV soap ahead of her temporary departure.
The actress plays Evelyn Plummer in the show but will leave the role for the production of Rose, when it arrives in the West End.
Never fear, while Maureen plays the lead role, she will head back to the cobbles to continue portraying Evelyn afterwards.
While in the middle of her rehearsals, Maureen has also been juggling dramatic storylines for Evelyn and admitted in recent weeks, the filming was so challenging, she was on the floor by the end of the day!
‘They’ve really put me through it the last few weeks’, the actress said during Friday’s (May 12) edition of Loose Women.
‘I’ve had seven scenes to learn a day. The last shot last night, I literally was laying on the floor and saying, “I can’t go on!”.’

When an image of Maureen on the floor then popped up on the screen, she joked: ‘That is me at the end of yesterday, and now I’m here sparkling!’.
In Corrie, Evelyn was recently involved in some heart-breaking scenes that saw her say goodbye to her beloved dog, Cerberus.
