Roman Kemp is set to front BBC’s brand-new game show The Finish Line alongside former Blue Peter presenter Sarah Greene.
In each episode, hosted by the Capital FM star, five contestants battle across a series of qualifiers and head-to-head races for the chance to win the ultimate cash prize.
Currently being filmed in Belfast, Northern Ireland, the main objective is to make it to the finish line ahead of your rivals in a game where ‘knowledge equals speed” and ‘the more you know the further you go’, the broadcaster added.
So the aim of the game is simple – make it to the finish line before your rivals.
Speaking about his brand-new role, the 30-year-old said: ‘I’m so excited to be hosting The Finish Line, coming to BBC One later this year. I’m a huge fan of quiz shows and with this being my first time hosting one, I really can’t wait to get stuck in.
‘I love that it’s a brand-new format but based on an iconic horse-racing fairground game. The show is set to be challenging and unpredictable; we know that viewers will be hooked!’
Sarah added: ‘This will be fantastic fun and so I am really looking forward to working with Roman on this new format.

‘It’s all about high-energy, high-drama racing and quickfire questions, and I’ll be bringing my A-game to ensure that Roman and the contestants are kept on the straight and narrow.’
Roman recently found himself feeling the burn after British promoter Eddie Hearn savagely roasted him during an appearance on his popular radio show.
He began: ‘The difference between me and you is, I have something you don’t. Talent and ability. I think your dad knew somebody as Capital FM. And I think the conversation went something like this.

‘”Do you remember when I did all those favours for you, used to come on your show and sing live? Well, my son is pretty useless to be honest with you. And I don’t know what I’m going to do with him. You once said to me, if I ever need anything, I’m here for you.
‘”I need a favour. He’s got no talent, he’s got no ability, he’s got no prospects. IF you can just give him a job somewhere, cleaning, running coffee, anything”. And the guy said to him, “I promised you a big favour. I’m gonna put him in front of the mic.” And here you are, Roman Kemp today.’
Ouch!
The Finish Line premieres on BBC One later this year.
