Luis Diaz was back in training with the Liverpool first team on Tuesday and could be in the squad for the trip to Manchester City on Saturday, although Jurgen Klopp may decide not to push him that quickly.
The 26-year-old has missed the majority of the season due to a knee injury, not playing since October in a Premier League loss at Arsenal.
He had started the campaign well, scoring three goals in his first eight league appearances and netting once in the Champions League, with his absence a disruption for Liverpool who have also been missing Diogo Jota for large parts of the season.
Jots is fit again and now Diaz is pushing to be available, although he will be a long way from full match fitness at this stage.
The Times report that the Colombian was in training on Tuesday and completed the session without complaint, although he has only just returned to first team training after working with the academy prospects last week.
The Reds go to the Etihad in the 12.30pm kick-off on Saturday, which could see Diaz given a spot on the bench, although Klopp and the medical staff will take that decision later in the week.

Darwin Nunez is expected to be available after a minor ankle problem but Thiago Alcantara is out with an ongoing hip problem.
Klopp has problems in midfield with the Spain international out as rising star Stefan Bajcetic is sidelined for the rest of the season.
Liverpool go to Man City still harbouring hopes of pinching fourth place in the table but in desperate need of results.
They sit sixth on the return from the international break, seven points behind Spurs in fourth, although the Reds do have two games in hand on the north London side.
