Xbox Series S toaster is the Xbox fridge sequel no one asked for

Forget new Xbox games, this is what’s going to save Microsoft’s 2023 (pic: XboxSquad)

A French website has shared pictures of an Xbox Series S toaster and even more themed household accessories.

Remember when the Xbox Series X was announced and everyone compared it to a fridge? What was a funny meme was soon turned into a marketing tool for Microsoft, as it started making actual Xbox fridges that it gave away to select celebrities and as a competition prize.

So, remember how the Xbox Series S was similarly compared to a toaster? … No, us neither. Regardless, Microsoft clearly though the fridge idea was popular enough to try something similar with its other Xbox console.

Although Microsoft itself has not officially announced anything at the time of writing, some convincing looking images of an Xbox Series S toaster have appeared online.

Apparently, it’ll become available later in the year (albeit in limited quantities) and offer three toasting modes, an anti-jam function, and a removable crumb tray.

The images were shared by French website XboxSquad via Twitter, which even claims to be selling the toaster itself and is accepting pre-orders.

However, its website is only offering to distribute toasters to people living in France and Belgium. As such, there’s no mention of how much the toaster will cost in the UK. XboxSquad labels it at 60 euros plus shipping, which makes it roughly £53.

The toaster isn’t the only new household accessory that Microsoft is planning, since XboxSquad mentions several others.

These are themed mousepads, a foldable box that looks like the Xbox Series X, a Halo themed toolkit, a pen holder, bowls and plates adorned with the Xbox logo, a bottle opener shaped like an Xbox controller, and 14-inch Halo energy sword lamps. You can see pictures for those via its website.

Presumably, Microsoft will unveil more concrete details in the near future, such as which countries these items will be made available and how you’ll be able to buy them.

Okay, to be fair, these look pretty cool (pic: XboxSquad)
