Robbie Williams, Pulp, The Chemical Brothers, and George Ezra have been named as the four headline acts for next year’s Isle of Wight Festival.

Robbie is currently in the middle of a UK-wide tour which is celebrating 25 years of his career as a solo artist, which will conclude in March 2023.

Pulp, fronted by Jarvis Cocker, and who shot to fame in the mid-90s Britpop boom, will perform on the opening night as part of their first run of live shows in a decade.

Shotgun hitmaker George Ezra will headline the Saturday night slot before The Chemical Brothers take over and close the evening with a classic DJ set.

The Sunday evening slot will see former Take That star Williams, 48, bring an end to the festival. His performance will be his first appearance at the festival.

The three-day event will take place at Seaclose Park from June 15 to 18, 2023 after making its return in 2021 following a year off in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic.

Speaking about being named as the headliner for Sunday, Robbie didn’t exactly try to hide his excitement.

‘There is something magic about a British festival. Us Brits know how to bring the energy,’ he said in a statement.

He continued: ‘I am thrilled to be headlining the iconic Isle of Wight Festival, it’s a real honour. I can’t wait.’

Other big names at the festival include new wave legends Blondie, the original Sugababes line-up, and the UK’s Eurovision star Sam Ryder.

Scouting for Girls are also on the bill, as well as the resurgent OneRepublic, whose single I Ain’t Worried has currently spent 13 weeks inside the UK top 10.

Pulp’s appearance at the festival will come as part of a string of shows they’re performing in the summer of 2023.

In 2020, Jarvis Cocker has said that he didn’t envision any further reunion tours for the Disco 2000 band, but perhaps the pandemic has changed his mind.

The Chemical Brothers, meanwhile, have continued to tour and release music, with their most recent album No Geography being released in 2019.

Tickets are available from Friday, November 4.
