Senator Mitch McConnell provided an update on his health, confirming he was briefly unconscious following a fall last month and is recovering from a mild case of pneumonia. He remains hospitalised for physical therapy, awaiting clearance to return to the Senate. McConnell intends to continue his work despite his health challenges.
A significant fire in Walthamstow, east London, led to the evacuation of hundreds of residents as flames engulfed a house and railway embankment. The blaze, tackled by 125 firefighters using twenty fire engines, caused smoke to spread across the capital. No injuries were reported, but travel disruption continues on the Weaver line for repairs.
European leaders, including France’s Macron and the UK’s Keir Starmer, convened in Berlin for an E5 summit aimed at strengthening defence collaboration amid shifting US commitments.
