Two adults and 13-year-old boy arrested for boy’s river death

Two adults and a 13-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a “beautiful” five-year-old, named locally as Logan.

The child’s body was found in the Ogmore River in Bridgend in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Police confirmed the man arrested is aged 39, the woman is aged 30 and the teenager arrested is age 13.

Tributes were paid to the “kind, funny, polite, handsome and clever” five-year-old on social media by family friends.

Police said they were “not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident”.

The body was discovered following reports of concerns for a missing five-year-old in the Sarn area of Bridgend at 05:45 BST on Saturday.

He was found in the river and taken to Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend where it was confirmed he had died.

“This is a tragic incident in which a young child has sadly lost their life,” Ch Insp Geraint White had said.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who has any information, to get in touch.

“We would ask the public not to speculate about this incident on social media as this is an active investigation.

“If you have any information that can help, please report this to us.

“Our thoughts are with the family and we are supporting them in every way we can.”
