14 killed and dozens injured after Mumbai billboard collapse
At least 14 fatalities and numerous injuries have been reported in Mumbai, India, following the collapse of a massive billboard during a sudden storm on Monday. The billboard, measuring 70m by 50m according to police estimates, toppled onto nearby houses and a petrol station.
Emergency services are currently conducting a rescue operation, with some individuals still trapped beneath the debris. The government of Maharashtra state, home to Mumbai, has begun an inquiry into the incident.

Local news footage captured the billboard swaying precariously in the wind before crashing down onto buildings in the city’s eastern suburb of Ghatkopar. The accident also resulted in the crushing of several vehicles.
Images from the scene show emergency teams navigating through the wreckage, while dramatic videos show rescue workers utilising power tools to extricate victims trapped beneath the fallen billboard.
