WWE SmackDown ended on another epic cliffhanger as Uncle Howdy revealed himself to Bray Wyatt and the fans.
Of course, everyone is still in the dark when it comes to who he really is, but even without a firm identity, viewers were left buzzing as the former Fiend was interrupted by a man behind his new mask.
Wyatt ended the show on Friday night as he made his entrance to his haunting new theme Shatter, scrolling down holding his signature lamp before once baring his soul to the audience.
Bray insisted he is showing his true self with ‘no mask’ or ‘smoke and mirrors’ to hide behind, and he promised to do ‘some spectacular things’ now he’s back in the fold.
‘The truth is that for the majority of my life I’ve been completely out of control, and I can’t help that man. My emotions, they don’t work like most other people’s,’ he added. ‘I don’t have control, and sometimes they can send me to a very very dark place. And other times, no matter how hard I try, I just don’t feel anything at all.’
Bray insisted he’s ‘had to do some really horrible things’ to get to where he is, and part of him ‘really likes’ that he doesn’t ‘mind doing horrible things’, and he was soon interrupted by a haunting video on the screen with the mysterious masked man, who seemed to refer to The Fiend and branded Wyatt a ‘liar’.
He said: ‘Who am I? I’m just a ghost of the man who cured the world of course. You are a fool. You cured the world. You sent him away. And now, now the reason why you are just a shell of who you once were.
‘I will teach you to revel in what you are. But you sir, you are a liar. You claim not to wear a mask, but we both know that’s not true don’t we? You will never be able to hide from me. Your Uncle Howdy.’
Emma returns to face Ronda Rousey, Roman Reigns threatens Jey Uso with major Sami Zayn change and more
The first match of the night saw the Brawling Brutes – represented by Ridge Holland and Butch – score a major win over Solo Sikoa and Sami Zayn in a strong match with plenty of storyline development involving Sami’s issues with Jey Uso.
In the end, it was a row between them which led to a win and in turn earned the Brutes a shot at the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles at Crown Jewel, while Roman Reigns came out afterwards, clearly frustrated and ready to address the rows causing issues within The Bloodline.
Jey ranted at Sami after an apology from the Honorary Uce, insisting he isn’t part of their family and shocking the fans when he claimed he doesn’t ‘give a damn what the Tribal Chief said’.

Sami did manage to get them to break character after claiming Jey wasn’t being very ‘Ucey’, and the Tribal Chief regained his composure to tell Jey if he didn’t sort himself out, he’s be renaming Zayn as Sami Uso.
The New Day’s Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods got a win over Maximum Male Models, and the match sadly felt ultimately directionless.
Backstage, Liv Morgan sparked a brawl with Sonya Deville as their feud continues to heat up, with the pair set to face off in a No DQ match next week.

Ronda Rousey issued an open challenge for her SmackDown Women’s Championship, which was answered by former star Emma – known to IMPACT Wrestling fans as Tenille Dashwood.
The Baddest Woman On The Planet stole a win after raking the eyes, but Emma came close to scoring an upset and it’s great to see her back in the fold after five years.
Hit Row turned to Shinsuke Nakamura as their mystery partner to even the odds against Legado del Fantasma and even scored a win over the dominating new faction.
In the last match of the night, Scarlett helped Karrion Kross to victory over Madcap Moss, who looked strong as he tried to score an upset over Drew McIntyre’s rival.
Kross overcame the challenge and refused to let go of the Kross Jacket afterwards, instead keeping the hold in and issuing a warning to McIntyre before their Cage Match in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next weekend.
Elsewhere during the show, Rey Mysterio was brutally attacked backstage by GUNTHER before they clash for the Intercontinental Title next week, while Ricochet took issue with LA Knight’s arrogance.
WWE SmackDown airs Friday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
