An 18-year-old woman has said it is ‘devastating’ to no longer have her twin sister by her side, after she died beside her in a car crash two weeks ago.
Abigale Pearson and her sister Chloe was seriously injured in the collision near Cotesbach in Leicestershire on the night of December 15, when the Citroen C3 in which she was travelling hit a Mercedes CLK.
The twins, from Castleford in West Yorkshire, were taken to hospital, but Chloe died from her injuries on December 17.
Abigale has since been discharged. Four other people who were involved in the crash remain in hospital.
In a tribute, Abigale said: ‘The most devastating thing is that I came out of this incident without my twin sister.
‘I’m absolutely mortified and heartbroken that I’ve no longer got her by my side.
‘Rest in peace beautiful, until we meet again.’
The twins’ grandmother Elizabeth Pearson said: ‘Chloe was caring, beautiful and so full of life.
‘She had just started her nursing career. It is so numbing; we are all in shock. The family has been ripped apart.
‘We are all mourning together. Castleford is mourning.’
