The Coronation of King Charles III is just weeks away with celebrations set to take place across the UK.
While the ceremony will take place on May 6, there will be a whole weekend of events on offer from Big Lunches to the special Coronation Concert.
If you’re thinking of hosting your own street party or you’re just enjoying the Bank Holiday with loved ones, you may be thinking of making your own coronation quiche.
The King revealed the vegetarian dish to replace coronation chicken for this year’s festivities, and the Royal website has even provided us with a recipe.
But with the cost of living crisis still raging on as people try to pinch pennies, you may be looking to cut costs where you can when it comes to cooking.
Using the latest online prices and searching for the cheapest options possible, we find out which supermarket is the cheapest to buy your ingredients from if you want to make your own coronation quiche.
What ingredients are needed for a coronation quiche?
The Royal website describes coronation quiche as: ‘A deep quiche with a crisp, light pastry case and delicate flavours of spinach, broad beans, and fresh tarragon.’
It goes on to say it can be eaten hot or cold and recommends serving with a green salad or boiled new potatoes.
