The cost of living affects everyone across the country, and the government has implemented schemes to aid those that need help the most.
There is support in place for individuals who receive benefit payments, including cost of living payments throughout 2023.
These payments -announced by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt in his Autumn statement – amount to up to £900 and will apply to more than eight million eligible, means-tested people, according to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Another support package that has been promised is the £150 disability cost of living payment – and it is expected to begin arriving in eligible people’s bank accounts from this month.

When will the £150 disability cost of living payment be made?
The £150 disability cost of living payment will be made to more than six million people across the country in either June of July 2023, according to the Government website.
The payment will be sent automatically to eligible recipients between June 20 and July 4 this year.

Who is eligible to receive the £150 disability payment?
The payment will be given to anyone who receives any of the following benefits:
Disability living allowance
Personal independence payment
Attendance allowance
Scottish disability benefits
Armed Forces independence payment
Constant attendance allowance
War pension mobility supplement
You do not need to apply for the payment, it will be paid to you automatically if you are eligible.
You must have received a payment of one of these benefits for April 1, 2023, to get the Disability Cost of Living Payment.
It is also tax-free and will not affect any benefits or tax credits you get.
