Children went back to school in September – some would’ve moved up to secondary school and others would’ve moved on to important years, like their GCSEs.
Whether they’ve just started or are already thinking about exams, many children will be ready for a break.
As school holiday dates vary slightly every year, many parents will be keen to check when the next half term is, as there’s always one around the end of October (a Halloween treat, one might say).

In England and Wales, most schools will have their Autumn half term between Monday, October 24 to Friday, October 28.
This unfortunately means that Halloween falls on a school night – boo.
And just around the corner from them is the Winter holiday, which most kids will have between Monday, December 19, 2022, and Monday, January 2, 2023.
Occasionally, you might find your child’s school dates differ from the standard across England and Wales.

Northern Irish kids will rejoice to find out that their half term falls over Halloween – this means late-night trick-or-treating and scary movies galore.
In Northern Ireland, the half term takes place between Monday, October 31 to Wednesday, November 2.
And after that, the Winter holiday kicks of on Thursday, December 22, 2022, and runs until Tuesday, January 3, 2023.
