When you’re thinking about your future career options and trajectory, why not consult the traits and realities of your star sign?
After all, it might steer you in the direction of the work destiny tailor-made to suit you and your strengths.
Astrology can also help you reveal weaknesses you may have missed, allowing you to deal with what’s holding you back and open yourself up to new opportunities.
Scorpio, step this way for some cosmic career advice, and read on…
What are Scorpio’s career strengths?
A Water sign ruled by Pluto, you are all strength, power, independence, force and secrecy. An enigma but a magnetic one. A master of your own will.
You are a naturally passionate and charismatic person but you don’t let others get too close. People are drawn to you but soon learn that you’ve got solid boundaries and like your space. You are loyal, protective, and resolute for those you love and like. You are scathing and scary to those who cross you – Scorpios are masters of revenge.
You are innately intuitive, even psychic, and like to get real, sniff out what’s what, understand the root causes and drivers (though woe betide anyone turning the powers of analysis on you).
All Scorpios enjoy success, have grand ambitions, and are not afraid of hard work and doing whatever it takes to make it. Scorpios can be drawn to dark, dangerous, and shadowy areas of life (like the occult, military, detective or spy work).

What are Scorpio’s weaknesses at work?
The super skills of independence and self confidence/belief can tip over into domineering and stubborn tendencies if left unchecked. All Scorpios believe in their own ideas and opinions and powers and this is a great trait, making them good leaders. However, they need to learn to mitigate, compromise, listen, and collaborate too – this can be a harder journey for them.
Scorpios can, at worst, come off as very aloof, disinterested, and unapproachable. They are happy in their own skin, they protect their boundaries, they don’t need other people’s company or approval. Scorpios sometimes have to fake being ‘warm and fuzzy’ when they really don’t feel like it.
Taking things intensely personally can create problems. Scorpios harbour grudges and don’t let go of slights and insults. They are also kind of jealous people and can become obsessive over things/people/rewards they want but can’t get. Tempering this part of their nature is important.
Which jobs is Scorpio best at?
Research is a Scorpio’s catnip – finding stuff out. So, any roles that require a lot of this, such as scientist, market researcher, writer, journalist, detective, psychologist, academic, or historian, will bring out the best in them
Strategy is another super skill. Scorpios are dispassionate assemblers of the bare facts and truth and aren’t afraid to look at things as they are and work from there. They enjoy playing situations like a game of chess. They thrive on outwitting other people. Business strategy is a natural arena for them.
Spirituality appeals to Scorpios. It’s the great mystery of the human race – how we think and feel, what we believe in beyond what we can prove, how we join together in universal faiths. Being a spiritual guru or leader or teacher would appeal to the Scorpio mindset.
Medicine. Scorpios are good at dealing with anything scary, gory, painful, stressful, intense, or sad. They can compartmentalise easily. They also like fixing things and being seen as an expert in a field. Working as a specialist physician would appeal, and they’d be great executors with skill and determination.

What is Scorpio like as a boss?
Scorpios lead by example – being first in and last out, doing the jobs that no one else wants to, and inspiring a team through sheer conscientious and relentless effort. A Scorpio boss will make you feel like this can’t fail.
They also don’t shy away from the truth, the root cause, the real crux of the matter, and are strong enough to make tough decisions, get stuck into problems to resolve them, and sort things out.
Scorpio bosses will have a sixth sense for the mood of a team at any given time and probably pre-empt a lot of issues simply by proactive choices or changes. You may feel they’re always one step ahead.
Will Scorpio be successful as a business owner?
Scorpios are ideal to be self employed because they are resolute and firm about their own ideas and abilities, have total faith in themselves, can work incredibly hard, and are charismatic and inspiring.
They are tough but warm. Proud but intuitive.
