    Today’s forecast for the UK will see a wet and windy start with a band of heavy rain sweeping eastwards. This will clear into the afternoon, giving way to bright spells but also scattered showers, mainly in the north-west of England.

    Tonight will start mainly dry. But later in the evening a band of showery rain will move in from the northwest. The rain will be heavy at times and will become wintry over the hills to the northwest in the early hours.

    Largely cloudy today with spells of heavy and persistent rain in the morning and early afternoon. Turning drier later on but it will remain cloudy. Windy and mild. Later tonight the weather will continue to be cloudy and mild. There will be spells of light rain moving in from the west at times. Easing winds.

    Latest forecast for Edinburgh

    This morning will see widespread rain and strong winds. In the afternoon, the rain will become restricted to the Northern Isles, leaving the rest of Scotland with bright spells and scattered showers. Staying generally dry this evening, but showers, wintry on the hills, will start to drift into the far west. The showers will merge to longer spells of rain at times overnight and spread further east.

    This morning will be overcast with a band of heavy rain. In the afternoon, cloud will break and sunny spells will develop. There will be lingering showers for a time but it will turn dry later. Windy. The evening will begin overcast and in the early hours, a band of heavy, persistent rain will move in from the west. It will be a mild and windy night.

    Latest forecast for Belfast

    Early this morning will be overcast with a band of heavy, persistent rain. Drier in the afternoon with sunny spells developing. However, in the evening, another band of rain moves in. Windy and mild. Tonight will continue overcast with spells of rain moving in from the southwest, some falling heavy. Clear breaks develop towards dawn with a few showers lingering. And it will be a cool and windy night.
