UK weather: Warnings across country for snow and floods
As snow and rain persist throughout the UK, weather warnings remain in effect.
Scotland is under yellow warnings for snow and ice until Friday and Saturday, with potential power outages and disruptions to travel anticipated.
Additionally, numerous flood warnings and alerts are active across various regions of England.
According to Dan Stroud of the Met Office, while the worst may have passed, conditions remain uncertain.
Following a cold spell that brought sub-freezing temperatures and led to school closures in northern England and Wales on Thursday, Kirkwall, Scotland, recorded approximately 10cm of snow, while Bingley, West Yorkshire, saw 9cm.
Elizabeth Rizzini from BBC Weather forecasts that Friday will be less cold in most northern areas, though eastern Scotland, northeast England, and parts of Northern Ireland may still experience unpleasant and windy conditions. She noted that while higher elevations in Scotland may see snow, lower areas will likely experience sleet or rain.
