Get you up to speed: Ukrainian troops on the frontline get KFC delivered by drone | News World

Ukrainian special forces delivered KFC to frontline troops using a drone, demonstrating resilience against Russia’s supply blockade. The operation, conducted by the 3rd Separate Special Purpose Regiment, took place amid ongoing logistical challenges on the Zaporizhzhia front.

Ukrainian forces are increasingly relying on the Heavy Shot drone, manufactured by Gurzuf Defence, for resupply missions, capable of carrying between 44lb and 66lb over distances of 12 to 16 miles. Soldiers from the 108th Territorial Defence Brigade have reported being trapped at positions for over six months, facing significant shortages of food, water, and medicines, highlighting ongoing logistical challenges.

Ukraine’s 3rd Separate Special Purpose Regiment has defended its supply lines by successfully delivering KFC to troops via drone amid ongoing Russian blockades. The regiment emphasised the effectiveness of drone logistics, stating, “When standard delivery is impossible, drone supply takes over,” which highlights a shift towards increased reliance on aerial resupply methods as ground logistics face challenges.

What remains unclear — The exact number of Ukrainian soldiers relying on drone deliveries remains unspecified.

Ukrainian special forces have mocked Russia’s blockade on their frontline by delivering KFC to soldiers with a drone.

Footage released by Ukraine’s 3rd Separate Special Purpose Regiment shows a secret mission to carry fried chicken to hungry troops.

The drone drops off the yellow takeaway bag – belonging to the delivery company Glovo – for grinning soldiers to enjoy.

The delivery flies in the face of Russia’s attempt to strangle Ukraine’s supply lines and cut troops off from vital resources.

The regiment said: ‘When standard delivery is impossible, drone supply takes over.

‘Directly to the Triarium operators. Even KFC stays hot when delivered SOF style [Special Forives] in the combat zone. DELIVERED. SOF STYLE.’

Triarium is a specially trained unit within the regiment.

Ukraine troops enjoying KFC contrasts with reports that Russians have been left to drink from puddles as logistics break down.

Putin’s army has been using reconnaisance to block Ukrainian supply lines and make conventional vehicle movements highly dangerous.

Soldiers from Ukraine’s 108th Territorial Defence Brigade have claimed that they have been trapped at positions on the Zaporizhzhia front for more than six months, at times without adequate food, water or medicines.

The neighbouring 118th Mechanised Brigade said drones had been deployed to fly in drinking water, rations, ammunition and fuel.

These deliveries are increasingly being completed by the so-called Heavy Shot drone.

Manufactured by Ukrainian company Gurzuf Defence, the Heavy Shot drone was designed as a heavy night bomber but is now needed for resupply efforts.

The craft is able to carry approximately 44lb to 66lb over a round trip of around 12 to 16 miles.

Its developers say it can also operate amid Russian electronic warfare and use alternative navigation systems when satellite signals are jammed.
