UK heatwave forecast: Exact date scorching ‘Spanish plume’ will bring 30C highs
Daily Mirror says Britain is set for highs of 30C this week as a “Spanish plume” brings the “first properly hot summer’s day” of the year.
Scorching conditions and wall-to-wall sunshine will sweep in from Wednesday, making parts of the country warmer than Hawaii.
Temperatures in London are forecast to reach 30C on Friday and Saturday, while it could hit 25C in Manchester, 21C in Edinburgh, 22C in Belfast and 23C in Cardiff.
Met Office meteorologist Jonathan Vautrey said Friday could be the warmest day of 2022 so far, potentially beating the 27.5C recorded at Heathrow in west London on May 17.
Meanwhile pollen counts will be “high to very high” for much of England and Wales throughout the week, while low to moderate counts are expected across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
