Peter Spellos, who starred in an animated Transformers series as well as the TV series American Dreams, has died aged 69.
He was previously diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
As reported by TMZ and confirmed by his friend, Jennifer Smith, the actor died in the early hours of Sunday morning (November 19) at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis.
The acting student, who has power of attorney for Spellos, said he had been receiving care at the facility since his health started to worsen.
‘He was loved and cared for and surrounded by people during his final days.’
Spello is survived by a brother, James, who has confirmed he will be cremated.

His family members are also planning an online service for fans to honour him.
Spellos is best known for voicing the character of Sky-Byte in the Transformers: Robots in Disguise cartoon series (2000).
The role made him extremely popular on the comic-con circuit, and he played it across 39 episodes.
Alongside his voice acting in anime, Spellos also appeared in hundreds of TV shows and films in live-action form.
He played Captain Larry Bridgewater in Men in Black II (2002) and Gus in NBC’s American Dreams (2002).

Spellos was also Elmo in Married… with Children, Ramsey in The Guyver, and had roles in ER, NewsRadio, and Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.
As for movie roles, he played Bloodstone in Billy Frankenstein, Lou in Bound, Big Ed in Possessed by the Night, Howard Brunel in Glass Trap, and Orville Ketchum in Hard to Die.
His acting CV also featured titles such as Dinosaur Island, Yes Man, In the Army Now, and Agent Red.
