Tim Allen has been slated on Twitter after sharing a bizarre ‘joke’ about ‘woke’ people.

The Toy Story actor left his social media fans baffled on Monday when he questioned where the ‘wokees clubhouse was’.

‘Who is the face of woke,’ the 69-year-old penned to his 882k followers.

‘Do wokees have a club house in someone’s backyard or maybe a cute yet safe playpen somewhere?’

Unsurprisingly, he was met with instant backlash over the comment, with one branding his words ‘disappointing’.

A Twitter user replied: ‘Really hit *send tweet* on this thinking it was a banger, huh, Tim Allen?’

‘This reads like something that was picked off the ground after a dog ate a scrabble set,’ another joked.

‘This is the most disappointing tweet of the day for me,’ a follower penned.

One said: ‘I’ve never thought you were funny and I’m glad to see I’ve always been right about you.’

Fellow Hollywood star Patricia Arquette also got in on the action, and responded: ‘The clubhouse is their voting location. Sorry not sorry.’

Tim has yet to address the comments over his original post, which is still visible on his page, but he did share an inspirational quote, adding: ‘”External silence can be the doorway to inner silence.” -Ram Dass.’

The Home Improvement star recently made headlines after he was replaced as Buzz Lightyear in the Toy Story prequel, with Chris Evans stepping into the iconic space suit earlier this year.

Tim appeared to shade the divisive spin-off in an interview, insisting that the latest outing for the space ranger had ‘no connection’ to the character he voiced in the first four films of the franchise.

‘The short answer is I’ve stayed out of this, because it has nothing to do [with my character],’ he said in June when questioned about Lightyear.

‘We talked about this many years ago…but the brass that did the first four movies is not this.

‘There’s really no Toy Story Buzz without Woody. I’m not sure what the idea…,’ he added to Extra. ‘I’m a plot guy. This was done in 1997 and it was seen to be a big adventure story. As I see it, it’s not a big adventure story.

‘It’s a wonderful story, it just doesn’t seem to have any connection to the toy.

‘It has no relationship to Buzz. It’s just no connection, I just wish there was a better connection.’
