A Japanese tourist has died hours after he fell unconscious following a leap off one of the world’s highest bungee jump platforms in China.
The 56-year-old man is said to have developed shortness of breath soon after throwing himself off the 764-foot platform at Macau Tower yesterday.
He was taken to the Conde S. Januário Hospital in Macau, off the south coast of China, but was later pronounced dead.
Skypark by AJ Hackett, which runs activities including the bungee jump at the building, charges 2,888 MOP (around £280) for a one-person shot.
The platform at Macau Tower is the second-highest in the world, beaten only by the Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge Bungee which is also located in China.
