Tommy Wiseau is back behind the camera and has release a trailer for his next weird and wonderful creation – Big Shark

The American actor and filmmaker is best known for writing, producing, directing, and starring in 2003 melodrama The Room, which has been described by many critics as one of the worst films ever made.

It has since gained cult status and became the subject of the 2013 non-fiction book The Disaster Artist: My Life Inside The Room, the Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made by Greg Sestero.

The book was then adapted into a film, The Disaster Artist, in 2013 starring James Franco, who also directed the picture, alongside Dave Franco, Seth Rogen, and Alison Brie.

Now, Wiseau is back and has another offering for the world in the form of Big Shark, his first feature film since The Room.

According to Variety, the film follows three firefighters – Georgie, Patrick, and Tim – as they work to save New Orleans from an attack by, that’s right, a big shark.

A teaser trailer for the film was first released in 2019, and now fans have been treated to two minutes of madness in preparation for the film.

This new offering shows the apex predator in all its glory as it inexplicably takes to the land in pursuit of the film’s heroes.

‘You can run. You can hide. But that won’t save you,’ reads floating red text cut between clips of two men boxing and establishing shots of a city.

It goes on to say the ‘world’s most vicious predator’ has come to the bayou and it only wants one thing – blood.

A shark then falls from the sky into the boxing ring before it is then seen surfing the sea, and pavement, in pursuit of flesh.

The trailer ends with the film’s title and a promise it is ‘coming soon’, before it then cuts to an advert for underwear designed by Wiseau – just because.

The first screening of Big Shark will take place on April 2 at Cinema 21 in Portland, Oregon, followed by screenings in New Orleans, California, and New York.

Variety reports Wiseau plans to appear in person for these ‘pre premiere’ screenings, with an ‘Official Final Cut Version’ of the film set to follow.
