Today’s news summary – Paper Talk

Most of Monday’s front pages are carrying images of residents fleeing Ukrainian cities that have been targeted by Russian forces.

    ……………………

The Sun dedicates its front page to Ukrainian civilians running for their lives after Vladimir Putin broke the second ceasefire in two days.

The Daily Mirror says the UK government has issued just 50 visas and must do more to help terrified Ukrainians fleeing their country.

The Daily Express condemns Vladimir Putin after his forces targeted families using escape routes with shelling and missiles and innocent Ukrainians were “killed in cold blood”.

The Guardian reports on Emmanuel Macron imploring Vladimir Putin to let civilians flee Ukraine’s besieged cities as a second attempt to evacuate Mariupol ended under Russian bombardment.

Metro reports on civilians fleeing missiles and shells in Ukraine. “Run for your lives” is the front-page headline along with a picture of a woman and young child fleeing in the city of Irpin which was the target of Russian shelling.

The Independent says “trapped: the battle to escape Putin’s wrath” says the headline on the front page – along with a picture of a young child being helped over wreckage by a Ukrainian soldier.
