Thousands of London homes plunged into darkness by huge power cut
The Metro says a massive power cut plunged parts of London and Hertfordshire into darkness tonight.
Thousands of homes across 38 postcodes were impacted by the outage.
It was feared the problem would last well into the night but electricity was restored ahead of schedule.
The issue was caused by a surge which triggered a fault with the underground power network.
