    Thousands of homes across London left without water – check affected postcodes

    Thames Water has issued an apology after people across London have been left with no running water (Picture: Getty)

    Thousands of homes across London have either been left without running water or are experiencing low pressure.

    Properties in the west and south west of the capital are affected, according to Thames Water.

    The water provider has apologised to its customers and says the issue has been caused by a ‘power supply problem’.

    A Thames Water spokesman said on X, previously known as Twitter: ‘Following a power issue in West London some customers have no water or low pressure this morning.

    ‘We’re sorry for the disruption and we are working hard to fix the issue.’

    The following postcodes are currently affected: SW4, SW8, SW9, SW13, SW14, SW15, SW18, SW19, TW1, TW2, TW3, TW4, TW5, TW7, TW8, TW9, TW10, TW11, TW12, TW14, TW17, W1H, W1H, W1M, W1N, W2, W3, W4, W6, W7, W10, W12, W13, W14.

    MP for Twickenham, Munira Wilson, says some schools have also been unable to open this morning due to ‘lack of water’.

    She said that Thames Water ‘need to sort this soon’.

    Ms Wilson wrote on X: ‘I’m trying to get more information for local residents and alarmed that schools are having to close because of this issue.’

    Thames Water added on its website: ‘It’s been caused by a power supply problem which has affected our Ashford and Hampton water treatment works in west London.

    ‘We’re working hard to fix the issue and to get things back to normal.’
