Snow, in March? We’re just as shocked as you. But believe it or not, the cold snap is here to stay this week and this means one thing: it’s time to layer up.

Embracing a snow day means thick jumpers, heavy-duty coats and, of course, the key part of any winter wardrobe – gloriously thick and cosy socks.

When it comes to socks we’d usually shirk style just to keep warm when the weather is doing its most to dampen our spirits. But what if we told you you can remain a sartorial legend and dodge frostbite at the same time?

The London Sock Company was launched in 2014 by entrepreneurs Ryan Palmer and David Pickard, who wanted to provide a premium sock company with a luxury feel.

What followed was a great success story, with A-Listers and superstar stylists like Ilaria Urbinati endorsing the brand.

And if we can’t trust Captain America, AKA the dapper Chris Evans, to guide us when it comes to stylish-yet-substantial socks (he wore two classic pairs during a recent photo shoot to celebrate being named People’s Sexist Man Alive 2022) then who can we trust? Other celebrities spotted wearing the brand include David Gandy, Ryan Reynolds, John Krasinski and Aaron Paul.

Ugh, it just LOOKS cosy (Picture: London Sock Company)

Plus, the London Sock Company has had some glowing reviews online, with customers on Trust Pilot praising its ability to keep feet feeling toasty.

One reviewer said of her husband who she bought a pair: ‘He has a very sensitive internal heating system and says the wool is regulating temperatures really well yet keeps him warm, as the material is meant to do.’

While another glowing review read: ‘I am a sock snob and will wear socks once, if I don’t care for them. Your socks are special. Quality, colours, feel and wearability characteristics are all outstanding. I get excited just to put your socks on.’

Luckily for us, you can snap up this celebrity-approved sock brand for less. The brand is currently offering big discounts with its end-of-season sale. Shoppers can enjoy 15% off site wide with code SEASON15, as well as up to 50% off selected styles.

Need some inspiration? These are a few of our favourite pairs from the London Sock Company

Boot Socks, two pairs for £32

They come in packs of two (Picture: London Sock Company)

These snuggly boot socks have the length you need to keep ankles protected and feeling snug. They come in 11 shades, but we love the vibrant ‘Ocean’ colourway.

Lomond Welly Socks, £60 (2-pair box)

Stylish, durable and extra thick – these are the welly socks of dreams. The choice of two shades means you can opt for classic navy, or add a pop of colour to an outfit with vibrant mustard.

    The Eaton, £42 (3-pair box)

These classic socks are a bestseller for a reason – finely knitted and hand finished, they sit mid-calf and will keep feet warm and comfy.
