The Witcher’s Anya Chalotra has admitted she is still struggling to process Henry Cavill’s exit after season 3.

The Witcher season three part 2 will mark Cavill’s final stint as Geralt of Revera in the in Netflix smash, before he’s replaced by Liam Hemsworth.

Naturally, fans were crushed by the news but they weren’t alone though, as Yennefer actress Chalotra said: ‘That news was hard to take because he’s family.’

She told The Telegraph: ‘We’ve been together for five years. So for anyone to leave after working with someone for that long, we’re going to feel that loss.’

When Cavill confirmed his exit, it was speculated his departure was ignited by clashes with showrunner Lauren Hissirch after he previously said he was committed to at least seven seasons.

Responding to the rumours, Chalotra added: ‘When we are all on set, we’re dedicated to playing these characters and bringing them to life in the best way.

‘And that is exactly what I felt every day from Henry.’

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, Chalotra said she was glad to have been kept in the dark over Cavill’s plans while filming their final scenes.

‘It’s kind of a testament to him. He is so committed to the scene. He wouldn’t let anything else come into that – nor would I to be honest, so yeah It’s quite nice actually that I didn’t know and could just live in that moment,’ she told us.

‘It was like 3am, I think. I would have been bawling.’

The Witcher executive producers Steve Gaub and Tomasz ‘Tomek’ Baginski, however, insisted to us the Geralt transformation from Cavill to Hemsworth ‘will make sense’.

The Witcher is available to stream on Netflix now. Season 3 Part 2 will be available from July 27.
