Conservative MPs have turned to Star Wars fan Rishi Sunak as their “new hope” without a single vote being cast, says The Sun, which adds that the 42-year-old politician will be the UK’s youngest prime minister for 200 years and is the first British-Asian in the job.

The Sun’s front page features a doctored image of him holding a lightsabre alongside the headline “The force is with you, Rishi”. The paper also mentions that Mr Sunak is the UK’s first Hindu PM and that his victory comes at the start of the Diwali religious festival.
