There’s a very likely chance they’ve completely forgotten about it, but the time has finally arrived for Zack and Cody to attend a dinner reservation they made more than a decade ago.
The twin brothers, played by Cole and Dylan Sprouse, were the titular characters in the Disney Channel sitcom, The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.
Running from 2005 until 2008, it also spawned spin-offs including The Suite Life on Deck, which started in 2008 and went on to wrap up in 2011.
In a 2009 episode of the show, which saw the brothers living on a cruise ship, the duo attempted to secure a table at an Italian restaurant, Chef Gigi’s, when the SS Tipton made a stop in Rome.
However, tables were in such high demand that they were told by the Maître d’ they would have to wait a whole 15 years to be able to sample the dishes on offer.
In the episode, the hostess told the boys: ‘I can squeeze you in at 7:30.’
After a long pause, she added: ‘… on Nov. 16, 2023.’
Clearly shocked, Cody responded with the obvious, stating the reservation was a full 15 years away.
Meanwhile his brother added: ‘What if I don’t feel like Italian that day?’
Now that the day has finally rolled around, fans of the show have pointed out the boys can finally head to the restaurant.
Doing their best to ensure the long-awaited booking was front of mind, many people posted a reminder on the actors’ social media pages.

‘Hey Dylan! This is a reminder that your appointment at Chef Gigi’s is set for tomorrow at 7:30pm, to confirm respond YES. To decline respond NO. Thank you,’ one fan commented under his most recent post.
‘Do you still feel like Italian? Because your table is ready,’ someone else shared.
Another added: ‘Don’t forget your reservation.’
Many others made sure to also remind his brother, with similar comments flooding his Instagram profile.
As one person shared: ‘You better be there, or you’ll have to wait another 15 years.’
Adrian R’Mante, who played bellman Esteban Julio Ricardo Montoya de la Rosa Ramírez on The Suite Life also got in on the joke on TikTok, sharing a reaction video to the scene.

‘Who’s eating Italian on November 16th, 2023?’ he captioned the post.
Even the Disney Channel weighed in, sharing the clip and writing it was ‘about time’.
Guinness World Records also joked this was a ‘new record for the longest time to wait for a reservation at a restaurant – 15 years set by Zack and Cody Martin (USA)’.
With the twins yet to comment on the momentous day, it’s still unclear if they remembered it had finally rolled around, so there’s a very strong chance their reservation was never fulfilled.
The Suite Life of Zack & Cody is streaming on Disney Plus.
