An investigation by The Guardian alleges more than 50 MPs are holding stakes in publicly-listed companies that have not been disclosed, raising questions about possible conflicts of interest. 

The paper also says that until now these stakes have been, in effect, secret. Dozens of MPs have shares in banks, housebuilders, defence companies and supermarkets, the paper notes.
