A family in Indiana is searching for answers after an 18-year-old girl was found dead in her jail cell over the weekend.
The Indiana State Police (ISP) has launched an investigation into the death of Shellby Hall, an 18-year-old from Anderson who was booked at the Madison County Jail over the weekend.
Hall was arrested on Thursday for possession of methamphetamines and driving under the influence.
She was booked at Madison County Jail the same night, where she was held through Friday and Saturday.
She was found unresponsive by correctional officers on Saturday morning, according to a statement from the ISP.

Staff at the jail attempted to provide medical care, but she was pronounced deceased at the facility.
Investigators are still waiting on the results of an autopsy and a toxicology report, but said they do not suspect foul play.
But Hall’s family has been left with more questions then answers after her tragic death.
‘I really feel like this is just a bad nightmare I can’t wake up from right now,’ her mother Sheela Hall told Fox 59.
According to the family, jail staff showed security footage of their daughter eating breakfast in her cell just two hours before her death.
‘She was fine and then two hours later she’s gone? Nothing makes sense,’ Sheela said.
The grieving mother said her daughter struggled with addiction, and wondered if she hadn’t received proper medical treatment after her arrest.
The family has since organized a protest and candlelight vigil for Hall, scheduled to take place outside of Madison County Jail on Wednesday night at 6.00pm.
Hall is not the first person to die in custody this year while awaiting charges.
In June, Nathan Carman, 29, was found dead in his jail cell at a facility in Vernon, Vermont.
Carman was awaiting trial for allegedly killing his mother at sea in a complex plot to inherit about $7million.
Shellby Hall’s family has been left with more questions then answers after her tragic death.
