Taylor Swift sent her 93.9million Twitter followers into meltdown on Wednesday night when she confirmed 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is on its way.

Speculation about when the superstar hitmaker, 33, would be re-releasing the record has boiled over in recent weeks, and now fans can finally sleep easy knowing it’s being released in October.

Taylor revealed this week on social media: ‘Surprise!! 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is on its way to you!’

She added: ‘The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways, and it fills me with such excitement to announce that my version of it will be out October 27th.

‘To be perfectly honest, this is my most FAVORITE re-record I’ve ever done because the 5 From The Vault tracks are so insane.

‘I can’t believe they were ever left behind. But not for long!’

Taylor also confirmed during the final show of her sold-out run at the SoFi stadium in Inglewood, California, on Wednesday that a re-release of her fifth studio album was on its way (Picture: Getty)

Needless to say, hyperventilating fans were quick to share their excitement, with one person writing: ‘I am crying,’ and another adding, ‘I am literally shaking.’

Other replies included: ‘I CANNOT WAIT’ and ‘The excitement is too much to BEAR.’

Taylor also confirmed during the final show of her sold-out run at the SoFi stadium in Inglewood, California, on Wednesday that a re-release of her fifth studio album was on its way.

The screens behind Tay then showed the album cover for 1989 (Taylor’s Version) which will be available from October 27.

Taylor had been dropping more hints than she has VMA nominations this year and fans were on the edge of their seats waiting to know what she had in store.

Eagle-eyed Swifties had been spotting signs that the next re-release era could be on the way –  and their detective work came through.
