The two party system in the United Kingdom allows for other parties to exist, although the main two parties tend to dominate politics; in this arrangement, other parties are not excluded and can win seats in Parliament.

Two by-elections will take place next Tuesday after Boris Johnson and fellow Tory Nigel Adams explosively stepped down.
Voters will take to the polls in Johnon’s former constituency, Uxbridge and South Ruislip in west London and Adams’ Selby and Ainsty in North Yorkshire on July 20.
