What is Tennis?

Tennis is a racket sport that can be played individually against a single opponent (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent’s court. The object of the game is to manoeuvre the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. The four Grand Slam tournaments

There are four Grand Slam tournaments (Majors) – The Australian Open played on hard courts, the French Open played on red clay courts, Wimbledon played on grass courts and the US Open also played on hard courts. 

What’s the difference between tennis and tennis?

Tennis is the evolved form of lawn tennis and it can be played on any surface including concrete and clay courts whereas lawn tennis is played exclusively in well-trimmed grass courts. The two-game buffer rule is not considered for tennis whereas it is an important rule for lawn tennis.
