Palestinian prisoners, in a unanimous decision, decided Wednesday to suspend the planned collective hunger strike after the Israeli Occupation met its demands, most notably ending the collective punishments imposed on prisoners after the Gilboa prison break.

According to Hebrew media, the operation took place on Jaffa Street in occupied Jerusalem, near the major bus station, where the settlers’ movement is active.

The Israeli Occupation police intend to file an indictment against the prisoners who were rearrested for planning what the occupation called a ‘sabotage’ operation and they will be sentenced to up to 15 years imprisonment.

Thursday, the Israeli Occupation announced the formation of an official investigation committee to examine the loopholes that enabled six Palestinian prisoners to escape from the heavily fortified Gilboa Prison at dawn on Monday.

Wednesday, the authorities in the Israeli Occupation attacked prisoners across the Occupation’s 23 prisons. 

Monday at dawn, six Palestinians escaped the high-security Israeli Occupation Gilboa Prison in the north of the country.
