A member of the Democratic Party, he served as the 47th vice president from 2009 to 2017 under Barack Obama and represented Delaware in the United States Senate from 1973 to 2009.

ByteDance, the Chinese parent company of TikTok, has said that it has no plans to sell the popular video app despite pressure from the US government. Earlier this week, TikTok said it would challenge in court the “unconstitutional” law.

Since the attack on the World Central Kitchen (WCK) charities have been pausing aid going into the territory due to concerns over staff safety.
