Russia has closed its airspace after an ‘unknown’ object was spotted floating over St Petersburg.
All flights at Pulkovo Airport, located 14 miles south of the city centre, have been temporarily suspended today.
Reports on social media have identified the object as a drone, but this is yet to be confirmed.
Authorities said on their official Telegram channel that all flights flights have been halted until midday local time.
It did not provide a reason for the suspension.
