Amanda Abbington has recently signed up for Strictly Come Dancing, and now her Twitter account is no longer visible.
She will be taking part in the series with Angela Rippon, Layton Williams, and Krishnan Guru-Murthy with more names set to be revealed in the coming days.
Amanda, who starred in Sherlock with her former husband Martin Freeman, has previously been banned from Twitter three times and has been called a ‘TERF’ for some views that were shared on social media.
She told BBC: ‘After a three-time Twitter ban, I’ve learned not to be quite so visceral in my anger or upset, just sit on it for a bit.’
‘I was hounded off Twitter and have repeatedly been accused of being a TERF [trans-exclusionary radical feminist] for simply wanting to have a dialogue about it. Because it isn’t black and white,’ she allegedly wrote on social media.
According to the Daily Mail, she wrote this in response to TV screenwriter Graham Linehan, co-creator of Father Ted, who asked: ‘What was the closest friendship you lost because of your beliefs?’ on Facebook. The post was later deleted.

Following some backlash, she has adopted a new online technique.
‘As a general rule of thumb, if I’m going to tweet something that I think is quite inflammatory, I will write it and save it in my drafts,’ she explained.
‘And then I’ll read it after I’ve had a night’s sleep and see what I think in the morning.’
However, the 49-year-old appears to have once again disappeared from Elon Musk’s social media platform.
This comes after Amanda tweeted that a drag baby sensory and cabaret show wasn’t for young children in March.
It wrote that it was ‘abhorrent’ and added ‘if you think it is [for babies], there is something fundamentally wrong with you’.
She posted a follow-up the next day: ‘I lost quite a few followers for saying that a semi-naked man in thigh-high boots dancing in a highly sexualised way shouldn’t be performing in front of babies and it tells me everything I need to know about where society is heading.
‘How do you not agree with me on this?’

Amanda has been very present on a different app – Instagram – regularly sharing her joy at being selected for Strictly 2023.
Speaking of her new job Amamda said: ‘I’m thrilled to have been asked to do Strictly. I’m actually really shy and self-conscious so this will be a great opportunity for me to overcome those things!
‘Plus, I get to learn to dance which I am incredibly excited about. I’m really looking forward to the training too, I’m quite competitive as my family and friends will tell you. I can’t wait to start!’
Amanda will be supported by children – son Joe, 17, and daughter Grace, 15 – from her 16-year relationship with Martin.
She is currently in a relationship with former Britain’s Got Talent daredevil and escapologist Jonathan Goodwin.
