Everton’s £500m takeover ‘on brink of collapse’ while prospect of losing more points looms
The back page of the Daily Star says Everton’s proposed £500million takeover is reportedly on the verge of collapsing amid the looming threat of more sanctions.
The Toffees are staring down the barrel of potentially another points deduction after allegedly falling foul of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules for the second time this season, having been slapped with a 10-point deduction in November.
Sean Dyche’s side are 17th in the table, just a point above the relegation zone, and another deduction would see their hopes of Premier League survival take a massive hit by plunging them into the bottom three, and most likely to the foot of the table.
