Sandro Tonali set to play for Newcastle despite being slapped with 10-month betting ban
STAR SPORT SAYS Sandro Tonali could feature for Newcastle United against Wolves this weekend – despite being slapped with a 10-month betting ban.
On Thursday, Tonali was handed a 10-month betting ban by the Italian football federation, but they are yet to ratify the ban. Once ratified, the Italian FA would have to extended the ban worldwide via UEFA and FIFA. The process could take weeks.
As a result, Tonali is “highly likely” to play for Newcastle on Saturday. Speaking ahead of the weekend, Eddie Howe said: “Yes there is a high chance he could be available. There are a few things that have to happen before the ban is imposed.”
