Congratulations are in order, as Sir Rod Stewart has just welcomed his second grandchild!

Born to Sir Rod’s 28-year-old son, Liam, and his partner Nicole Ann, the tot is the Maggie May singer’s second grandchild after Kimberly Stewart welcomed Delilah del Toro 11 years ago.

The 78-year-old Londoner must’ve been made up with Liam and Nicole’s choice of name, as the sweet baby is called Louie Mark Roderick Stewart after the rock icon.

Not only is little Louie taking after his grandfather as his namesake, but the tot is already dressing head-to-toe in a Celtic strip.

Let’s hope little Louie grows up liking Sir Rod’s classic hits and football.

Taking to Instagram with the heart-warming news, Liam, who is a professional ice hockey player, wrote: ‘welcome lad 💚 you American, British, Croatian, Kiwi.

In the accompanying picture, Louie is sporting Celtic green and looks absolutely adorable in it, wrapped up in a squishy white blanket.

Liam is Sir Rod’s second child with his ex-wife Rachel Hunter, their first being 30-year-old actor Renee Stewart.

Aside from his long and illustrious music career, Sir Rod also enjoys a large blended family as he has eight children from five women, comprised of four daughters – Sarah, 59, Kimberly, 43, Ruby, 35, and Renee, 30 – and four sons – Sean, 42, Liam, 28, Alastair Wallace, 17, and Aiden Patrick, 12.

Sir Rod welcomed his first child, Sarah Streeter, 59, back in 1963 with ex-girlfriend Susannah Boffey when he was only 17.

The pair put her up for adoption, but Sarah and Sir Rod later reconnected after she turned up at a recording studio looking to meet her dad.

Next came Kimberly Stewart, 43, and Sean Stewart, 42, both from Sir Rod’s five-year marriage to Alana Stewart.

Then, Ruby Stewart, 35, was welcomed by Sir Rod and his ex-girlfriend Kelly Emberg, before he married Rachel Hunter.

With his current wife, Loose Women’s Penny Lancaster, Sir Rod shares two children, 17-year-old Alastair and 12-year-old Aiden.

This new addition to the family comes after Sir Rod and Penny, 52, renewed their wedding vows 15 years on from when they first tied the knot.

The Young Turks rocker is currently on tour, and is coming to the UK in June for a number of performances in Plymouth (June 24), Northampton (June 28), Durham (June 30), Bristol (July 2), Hull (July 4), and Edinburgh (July 6).
