Sir Jim Ratcliffe is planning to raise £100million by selling off some of Manchester United’s academy graduates including Mason Greenwood.

INOES’ 25 per cent takeover is expected to be ratified by the Premier League next month but structural changes at United are already underway.

The club have confirmed the appointment of Omar Berrada as their new chief executive having poached the Spaniard from rivals Manchester City.

Further appointments off the field are expected to follow in the coming months with plans to reshape the playing squad likely to kick off leading into the summer.

i Sport report a number of United’s own youth products could be up for sale as they represent the club’s best chance to collect transfer fees that are regarded as 100 per cent profit in the eyes financial fair play regulators.

Greenwood, 22, left Old Trafford to join Getafe on loan last summer where he has scored five goals and laid on four assists in 19 appearances.

United were prepared to reintegrate Greenwood into the first-team squad in the summer after charges of attempted rape and assault were dropped earlier in the year but eventually decided to part ways with the striker.

His form has attracted interest from a number of clubs in Spain including Barcelona. Recent reports claim the Catalan giants will look to wrap up a deal soon with Greenwood regarding a switch to the Camp Nou as a ‘dream move’.

Elsewhere, Scott McTominay’s future is uncertain. West Ham United were interested in signing the Scotland international last summer and while he is United’s second top scorer this season, he is viewed as ‘replaceable’.

United have allowed Hannibal Mejrbi and Alvaro Fernandez to leave the club on loan this summer, joining Sevilla and Benfica in deals that include permanent options in the summer.

Mejbri and Fernandez progressed through United’s youth ranks after arriving from Monaco and Real Madrid respectively.

Reports suggest Sevilla’s option to buy Mejbri is £17.2m. Benfica’s option to sign Fernandez is set at £5.1m plus potential add-ons worth £2.6m.

Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Antony are also among the list of players who could be moved on with Al-Nassr interested in signing the Brazil international along with right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Mason Greenwood is among those expected to go.
