Sarah Everard: Met condemns killer but faces tough questions
The Daily Express says in an emotional statement, the Metropolitan Police condemned Wayne Couzens for betraying it and police across the country. His appalling crimes have dealt a shattering blow to the reputation of the UK’s biggest force and it will take a long time to recover, say insiders.
Scotland Yard said yesterday: “We are sickened, angered and devastated by this man’s crimes which betray everything we stand for. Our thoughts are with Sarah’s family and her friends. It is not possible for us to imagine what they are going through.”
