Rumours have surrounded Britney Spears and her husband Sam Asghari that their marriage could be on the rocks after the pair have been pictured without their wedding rings.

Toxic hitmaker Spears, 41, was pictured on Tuesday without her wedding band as she was seen boarding a private jet in Los Angeles.

The pop songstress is currently holidaying with her friend Cade Hudson in Hawaii, with the star sharing sun-soaked snaps of the break on Instagram.

Days before she headed on her break, model and actor husband Asghari, 29, was also pictured with a bare ring finger near the pair’s Thousand Oaks home.

Now, Asghari has raised more questions by posting a picture on his Instagram story where his wedding ring is clearly visible.

The star can be seen in the selfie on his Instagram stories with his hand on his face and his wedding band firmly on his hand.

The snap was accompanied by two flexed bicep emoji as the star, dressed in a green camo cap and black hoodie, looked at the camera.

Spears further fuelled speculation there is trouble in paradise after sharing a throwback in which she seemed to lament a time before her third marriage.

In the video, which showed her and Asghari during a trip to Mexico, the singer wrote: ‘Throwback to Mexico … before I got married … so happy and silly here.’

The couple wed back in June after getting together in 2016, meeting on the set of her Toxic music video.

They tied the knot at her home with special guests including Selena Gomez, Paris Hilton, and Madonna, even recreating her famous VMAs kiss with the Vogue singer.

The bride and groom defied tradition in several ways, like not having a first dance or someone to walk Britney down the aisle, making the day their own.

Britney told Vogue: ‘We really wanted to make this a small and beautiful moment with family and friends.

‘We wanted warm and feminine colours including blush, white, cream, and gold, and a lot of various shades of pinks, blush, and reds.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted representatives for Britney Spears and Sam Asghari for comment.
