Former EastEnders legend Ross Kemp revealed that he got a little too big for his boots when he first started on EastEnders.
The actor and presenter, known for his role as Grant Mitchell, is often asked about reprising his role and his thoughts on the BBC One soap, which has changed a lot since his arrival in 1990.
While promoting his new Channel 5 drama Blindspot he said: ‘All the experiences I’ve had, making 130 documentaries around the world, have surely helped ground me. I think when I started EastEnders, I was a bit of an arrogant little twit.’
He added to Inside Soap: ‘There were so many people watching the show, and it certainly went to most people’s heads – including mine.
‘But now I’m older and wiser, and hopefully my skills haven’t deserted me.’

He made a number of sporadic returns between 2005 and 2006, and again in 2016, when he returned for Peggy’s final scenes, before returning once more several months later, when he saved Ben (Harry Reid) from a gang who attacked him.
When asked if he would reprise his iconic role, Ross teased that a comeback could happen.
‘I don’t think you can ever say never, you know?,’ he told hosts Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas, who posed the question from a fan on social media.
‘I loved the part, I did it for 10 years.
‘I must have liked it because I stayed there for 10 years. But, you know, look, it was great fun, I loved the cast, it was a great job. [I’m] doing lots of different things right now, but never say never!’
