Four people have died and at least five injured after a 22-year-old man went on a stabbing spree across various locations. The motive is unknown and the man has been arrested.

Rockford stabbing spree kills four and leaves at least five others injured in Illinois, USA. Police in Rockford say the attacker carried out the rampage after a home invasion on Wednesday afternoon.
One of the wounded is in critical condition.
Among the victims are a 15-year-old girl, a 63-year-old woman, a 49-year-old man, and a 22-year-old man.
The initial home invasion took place on Florence Street, but the attacks unfolded across various locations, authorities confirmed. The brutal attack ripped through one neighbourhood in a span of about 20 minutes.

The suspect killed at least 4 people, including a mail carrier, and injured 5 others.
Rockford police confirmed a suspect is in custody, but haven't yet established a motive.

Rockford stabbings what happened
First, there was a home invasion near the intersection of Florence Street and Eggleston Road.
A woman trying to get away was stabbed in the face and hands and seriously wounded. A Good Samaritan who tried to help her also was stabbed.
The 911 calls for the stabbing victims came in one after the other, as the attacker went on a rampage in the area of Holmes Street, Winnetka Drive, and Cleveland Avenue in Rockford. Calls for police and paramedics were soon coming in at multiple scenes in Rockford and surrounding parts of Winnebago County.
Rockford Police Chief Carla Redd said a total of four people were killed, one person was critically injured, and four other people were taken to hospitals, where their conditions were stabilised.
Redd said not all of the victims were stabbed, but there were no gunshot victims.
Rockford stabbing suspect
The suspect, a 22-year-old man, was arrested by a Winnebago County sheriff’s deputy after officers were called to a reported home invasion, Sheriff Gary Caruana said.
He is in police custody and was being questioned, according to Redd.
Police say the motives behind the attack remain unknown.
Police do not believe there are any other suspects at large.
