Rise and Fall contestant kicks off as Grafter begs for some Snoop Dogg in the basement but insists he won’t stand for Kanye

Things are looking to get more heated on Rise and Fall, as one contestant in particular has found a new reason for trying to escape the basement: no Snoop Dogg.

The thrilling new gameshow sees 16 contestants split into two teams: the powerful Rulers and the powerless Grafters, who are forced to work to raise the prize fund with tasks including eating pet food and getting electric shocks.

Meanwhile, the Rulers live in a penthouse of luxury, are served up lavish food and drink, and even have a hot tub.

It’s no wonder Jeff, 69, has been trying to work his way up – but the other contestants haven’t yet been convinced.

While they chose Grafter Marina to rise and join the Rulers, Jeff is still stuck in the basement, and he looks to be having enough.

In a preview for tonight’s episode, he tells care home manager Connor: ‘So everything I’ve done, I’ve done with a good heart, I’ve worked, and what’s killing me down here: the lack of music.

‘For god’s sake, stick on some Snoop Dogg or Warren G, I won’t listen to Kanye anymore.’

He added to the camera: ‘I badly want to get to the penthouse, I don’t think there is anyone up there that is capable of true leadership.

‘I personally think I should wait another two or three days before I go up, but a day is a long time in politics, so I’m going to put my name forward.’

But Jeff isn’t the only one, and he’s up against some fierce competition leading to things kicking off in the basement.

Employment coach James is also planning on putting his name forward, and the pair start clashing when they discuss who should be rising to meet the Rulers.

‘You and I are being asked questions, we are not questioning each other,’ Jeff bluntly tells James, to which the 26-year-old replies: ‘Technically I can question you, because technically you are my only hope.’

‘We are working together, and if you aren’t working with us now, are you going to work for us there?’ James continues.

When he interrupts Jeff as he tries to answer, the entrepreneur seethes: ‘Can you allow people to finish? Please allow people to finish. No, no don’t tell people to stop.

‘Please respect yourself and respect age.’

Who will win and rise to the Rulers?

Rise and Fall continues tonight at 10pm on Channel 4 and All 4. Catch up with the series so far on All 4.
