Raven-Symone has opened up about going under the knife, revealing she had liposuction and two breast reductions as a teenager.

The 37-year-old came to fame when she was a young girl, on the Cosby Show, before landing the lead role in Disney Channel sitcom, That’s So Raven.

During the latest episode of the Best Podcast Ever – her project with wife Miranda Maday – she spoke for the first time about undergoing several cosmetic procedures, sharing that she suffered a seizure after one operation.

‘I had two breast reductions and lipo before I turned 18. I’ve never said it, I’ve never shared it…,’ she said, explaining that her dad encouraged her.

‘There was paperwork involved. My dad suggested, strongly, that I should get my breasts reduced.

‘He was like, “So you don’t feel bad, is there anything that you want?” I was like, “Yeah, if I get lipo, will people stop calling me fat?” So I got a twofer.’

The Black-ish actress described her initial recovery as ‘a mess’, before she had to endure a second breast reduction.

‘That first one I had, I actually had a seizure when I woke up from the surgery,’ she continued. ‘I remember waking up and seeing everything, and then I just started to have this dry mouth and couldn’t breathe and went back under.

‘I disassociated. The recovery was a little painful, I have scars, I still have scar tissue to this day.

‘I gained weight after and had to go back for a little more out because they were still too big for others’ feelings…’

Despite the issues, she insisted that she doesn’t regret going under the knife – but the public reception didn’t change.

‘Even though I got the breast reduction, nobody knew at that age,’ she added. ‘I still got reemed through social media because I wasn’t as skinny as everybody else, and they still called me fat.

‘You get that done and it’s still not what everybody wanted to see.

‘What it did do is remind me how important it is that, if you want something changed in your body, live with it for a little bit longer to see if it changes. And get therapy before that happens.’
